As Shared Knowledge Systems' President, I have received some unusual mail.
Most of it has been general business related mail that might be useful
to organizations of a type and size. This mail has included a shipping
catalog that contained products for storing, packaging and mailing multimedia.
It has also included products used in public or shared private wash rooms.
I can see how my business might get business to business mail like this,
but today's mail contained something totally out of left field.
Today I received Public Safety Fire Rescue & EMS, a catalog containing
Equipment, Apparel and Haz-Mat Response Supplies. You can see what I'm
talking about by going to http://www.lss.com. I'm not sure who their target
market is, but its not me. Surely they can tell by our company name that
we are not a fire station or an emergency service, can't they? Now
I think my colleague Andrew
Pollack would've enjoyed this
catalog, but on me its totally wasted. Although Andrew makes his living
as a Notes/Domino guru, he's also a volunteer firefighter in his hometown
in Maine. Certainly a more appropriate target for this company's marketing
campaign than I.

Not seen that one, but normally I get a few others and have bought some good things -- my extrication gloves and gear bag for example.
I think you got this one in a big "tech company" mailing list because they sell material handling and lab equipment as well.

After reading your response I went back to look at the catalog again noticed all the first aid kits and componenets and thought that this was more likely the reason. Of course it could be that they know that Boston Medial Center has applied for the rights to buidl a level 5 bio containment lab in this neighborhood and they're just looking for buisnesses with paranoid owners
