Your place, Myplace, Team Workplace, SNAPPS AnyPlace.
Actually, it's the SNAPPS
AnyPlace Administrator for Lotus Team Workplace. I've just installed the
new version for Team Workplace 6.5.1. I'm a happy camper again. I had been
using it to administer my QuickPlace 3.x server. Unfortunately I needed
to upgrade my server to 6.5.1 before AnyPlace Administrator for 6.5.1 was
available and relearning the commands for qptool, the Lotus supplied administration
program, was annoying and painful.
If you administer one or more Team Workplace servers then AnyPlace Administrator
is a must have in you tool kit. AnyPlace Administrator is a browser based
client that enables you to easily manage Places and Place Membership,update
the Place Catalog and generate reports.
Place Management
The Place Management feature lets you create, update or remove a place;
lock or unlock a place; archive a place; upgrade, register or unregister
a place. You can also change the hierarchy in the names of external users.
Place Management also means the ability to manage PlaceTypes and enable
newsletters and mail for existing places.
Member Management
On the Member Management tab you can manage person and group entries within
places and rooms.
Services
Other administrative services provided are the ability to force the deletion
of places or PlaceTypes previously marked for deletion, the ability to
cleanup deadmail, and the ability to synchronize place statistics across
clusters.
Reports
The Reports tab provides a Report Builder plus two less flexible reports.
The less flexible reports are Get Servers and Get Places for
Member. The first gives you a listing of your Team Workplace servers.
The second accepts a member name and displays the places in which they
are members. The Report Builder is used in the Get Member Count
option and in the Report Builder option. The report builder allows
you to indicate place name, server, place size, and access date among others
as criterion upon which the report should be built.
The report generator is really special because not only do you get information
about places, servers and members, but the Report Builder and Get
Places for Member options produce interactive reports. After these
reports are displayed you can select one or more line items and execute
an action against them.
I can't say enough about what a time-saver this product is not only for
those administering very active Team Workplace servers on a daily basis,
but even more for those who manage less active Team Workplace servers.
Now you can manage Team Workplace without having to pull out the documentation
and relearn the parameters for qptool each time you need to create a new
Team Workplace, add a new member, update the Place Catalog, etc.
